Millions of people use LinkedIn to network and connect with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and companies. When LinkedIn users follow a company page, they’re given a glimpse into that company. As a company page manager, be sure to promote your brand using the following tips.
Optimize your company’s basic information
Under “Edit Profile,” optimize the most basic information on your company page. Doing so will help your LinkedIn company page rank in search results. Be sure to fill out the following fields as accurately as possible:
- Company Type
- Company Size
- Company Website URL
- Main Company Industry
- Company Operating Status
- Year Founded
- Company Locations
- Company Description
- Company Specialties
Optimize your company’s logo and cover image
Also under “Edit Profile” is your company’s logo and cover image. Both represent your brand and are seen by every LinkedIn member who visits your page. Make sure both these images align with company branding and image.
The cover image is 646 x 200 pixels, but you can also crop a large image after uploading it. The company “standard” logo should be 100 x 60 pixels and the “square” logo should be 50 x 50 pixels.
Post company updates
Last but not least, don’t forget to post company updates on your LinkedIn company page. These can be daily or perhaps a few times per week. Updates give your followers a sense of what’s happening at your company and support the view that your company is an expert in its industry. Some updates you may want to focus on include:
- Company news
- Press releases
- Blog posts
- Outside content that applies to your company’s industry
